All Our Castles

I watch the waves come crashing,
taking just what they desire,
the sun's burning like a smoke on its last drag,
between the lips of a liar...

and what would he say,
if ever he could speak?
Would he say that he was rooting for the
waves or for the beach?
And what would you believe?

And me, I'm just watching...

All our castles are beautiful,
but they're gonna fall--you know that,
all our castles, they're gonna fall,
but they're beautiful, you see that...

all our castles...

the fire's fading, night is falling,
the Moon's repeating what he's heard,
I still see outlines on the wet sand,
like little footprints where they stood...

And me, I'm just watching...

All our castles were beautiful,
but they had to fall, you knew that,
all our castles, they had to fall,
but they were beautiful, they saw that...

All our castles...

Our beautiful little buildings,
there's nothing at all but dust and mud that's left,
we were building up our hopes and dreams,
building up to disappointment...

All our castles were beautiful,
but they had to fall, you knew that,
all our castles, they had to fall,
but they were beautiful, they saw that...

All our castles were beautiful,
but they had to fall, you knew that,
all our castles, they had to fall,
but they were beautiful, they saw that...

All Our Castles.
