Daydreaming in Eden

I'm the girl who got what she wanted from life,
I'm bored sitting here on the top of the hill,
every day and every night…
and all that's left for me is,
paying taxes and becoming some man's wife…

I'm the girl who snuck from the window,
we'd ride into town, me and my friends,
I called shotgun, we headed into town,
me and my men…
in the nightclubs and the vampire caves,
out every night 'till 3 a.m….

Drinkin' like a fish,
I shaved all my hair off, got a nose-ring,
I liked trouble,
it liked me back again…

I'm the girl who got what she wanted from life…

I'm the girl in the corner office,
next to you daydreaming in Eden,
(this air-conditioned mess we're breathing is a little too cold),
go and ask for your little Girl Friday on Saturday, Sunday, Monday, too,
(this water-cooler talk gets a little bit old, you know)…

I'm in the office/coffin/box just down the hall,
repeating…all my yesterdays,
daydreaming in Eden, oh….

I got everything,
I wanted more,
I got everything,
I wanted more…

And all that's left for me is,
all my yesterdays…
